Museality and Documentation measure

Pre-requisites: Attendance at classes and active participation in seminars (working on segments of a joint project and participation in practical work in the computer office).

Course objectives: Learning about the system of protecting the significance of heritage, as a key subsystem of the museum protection and heritage preservation. Raising awareness about the importance of standard action and continuous compliance with the development of protection systems in the world.

Course description: 1. Informatological theories in Museology (Stranski, Glužinski, Glusberg, Maroevic). Information systems and the concept of Heritage Thesaurus (the concept of information in culture and the definition of the Museum Information System). 2. Information standards and museum documentation standards (MDA, Getty, the Italian Heritage Standard...). 3. Codification of information work in museums („Proto-Documentation“ period, the First Standards, Standards following international conventions, System of implementation in national legislation). 4. Protection of museum information systems and the Museum Informatics brand.

Learning Outcomes: Training for direct and independent work in the field of heritage documentation.
