Course objectives: The aim of this programme is training for understanding and critical reflection on different theoretical standpoints about intellectual education and about the relation between intellectual development and education.
Course description: Modern theories of intellectual development and education: cultural theory, structural theory, theory of instrumental conceptualism. Recent research of intellectual development and its educational implications. Intellectual education and educational process; educational process research strategies. School, intellectual development and education; intellectual development, teaching and learning. Significance of motivation in the process of intellectual development and education; motivation models. Significance of educational achievements: recent research of educational achievements, knowledge and capabilities as results of educational process. Stimulation of intellectual development in children with different abilities: individualization and differentiation of educational process. Intellectual development and education of gifted children.
Learning Outcomes: Knowing and understanding the essence of understanding of the intellectual education and understanding of the relation of education and intellectual development in different theoretical orientations; the capacity for critical interpretation of different concepts of intellectual education.
