Course objectives: The goal of course is to introduce a doctoral candidate to two interconnected research fields: cultural theory and studies of science and technology, and to enable them to carry out anthropological analysis of the relevant phenomena.

Course description: The subject incorporates two separate themes: Anthropology and multiculturalism, anthropology of science (and technology). Theories of culture emphasize the diversity of anthropological and other conjectures in the social and human sciences, and science and technology studies emphasize the socio-cultural contextualization of scientific production, dissemination and reception, as well as the cultural consequences of technological change.

Learning Outcomes: The ability of students to apply the anthropological analysis of a wide range of phenomena in the areas of inter-cultural relations, building and instrumentation of cultural identity, scientific and pseudo-scientific production and the impact of technology development in social change.
