Pre-requisites: Passed exams in Greek language I and II
Course objectives: Acquainting with Medieval Greek literacy; being able to translate from Medieval Greek; Being able to do scientific work in the field of Byzantine philology (i.e. the use of sources, contemporary methodology of work, the use of critically acclaimed literature... etc.)
Course description: The history of Byzantine literature; the development of Greek language in middle ages.
Learning Outcomes: Gaining basic knowledge in Byzantine philology. This course is a condition in order to follow lectures in Byzantine philology II.
