Management in Adult Education

Pre-requisites: passed the exam in the subject Policy and System of Adult Education

Course objectives: Understanding the theoretical basis of management in adult education; training in the preparation and implementation of management models in educational activity; understanding of the importance of professionalization of management in education.

Course description: Theoretical course: - Interdisciplinary approach to management problems; - Fundamentals of management - basic concepts (management, leadership), theories, approaches, assumptions of application in educational activity; - Strategic management of educational organization / institution; -Marketing in adult education; -Professionalization of management in education - managerial roles and competencies. Practical course: - Analysis of external and internal educational environment by using strategic analysis methods; - Positioning an educational institution (or form) in the "education market"; - Creating a model of strategic management of an educational institution; - Managerial skills: technical, conceptual, interpersonal, communication, problem solving / decision-making skills; - Models (programs and forms) of education / training of managers in education.

Learning Outcomes: - Understands the theoretical basis of management; - Apply methods of strategic analysis; - Develop a model of strategic management; - Develop a business plan of an educational organization / institution; - Program and organize education / training of managers in education.
