Course objectives: Critical analysis and research of the process of socialization of adults and defining the role and the function of education in those processes.

Course description: Theoretical course: Critical analysis of categorical terms of adult educational science: education/upbringing, education/schooling, learning, development and socialization; Different theoretical approaches to the relation between education and socialization of adults; Differences in socialization of children and adults and different roles of education in those processes; The relation between primary and secondary socialization; Phases of socialization of adults; Socialization and resocialization; Trends of socialization of adults: family, professional and socialization for living in the community; Education as a formative and an integrative component of socialization; Practical course: Analysis and evaluation of educational programmes and interventions in the process and trends of socialisztion of adults.

Learning Outcomes: Student understands the relation between education and development in the process of socialization of adults, is capable of researching informative, formative and integrative functions of education in socialization trends: family, parental, marital, professional and socialization for life in the community.
