Pre-requisites: Conditions of registration: Exams "Sociology of mental disorders" or "Social pathology" passed.

Course objectives: The goal of this course is to become familiar with methods of re-socialization and social integration of persons with alcohol/substance use disorders.

Course description: Course Components: 1)Methodical and 2) Theoretical: beside engaging with methods, the course will also provide theoretical background and explore both through workshops that will be conducted at the university. 3) Practical component: conducted in the psychiatric institution where doctoral candidates have a chance to the engage with the "Club of treated addicts" together with the therapists in charge. The focus lies on the systemic family therapy, group therapy and self-help groups, expecting team work and serious engagement.

Learning Outcomes: Studying and exploring the methods of re-socialization and social integration of persons with alcohol/substance dependency should enable doctoral students to conduct individual research and, with additional training, to participate in conducting associations ("clubs") of treated substance users or contribute to organizing rehabilitation programs.
