Pre-requisites: Knowledge of the English language as well as knowing how to utilize the internet/access.

Course objectives: Introducing students to basic ideas and frameworks of social and cultural anthropology. Enabling students to work independently and developing a tolerant view and intercultural understanding.

Course description: This course encompasses an examination of the fundamental tenets of anthropology, an examination of the history of anthropology as a discipline, fundamental anthropological theory (unilinear, multilinear, universal evolutionism, neo-darwinism, difusionism, culture and personality, functionalism, structural functionalism, structuralism, symbolic-interpretive anthropology, elements of political anthropology), methods of anthropological research (simultaneously – historical methods and research techniques).

Learning Outcomes: By taking this course students will gain knowledge of the fundamental ideas in sociocultural anthropology and general theory on intercultural and cultural differences.
