Course objectives: The goal of this course is for students to gain elementary knowledge of the social history of the relationship of Europe and the Balkans in the 19th and 20th century.

Course description: Comparative analysis of certain aspects of the social history of Europe and the Balkans in the 19th and 20th centuries. Review of the history of political ideas regarding state and national concepts of elitism of the Yugoslavian people before and after the creation of a Yugoslavian country in the context of European events and influences; social and national structures in society; population; economy; education, language; culture; press; propaganda.

Learning Outcomes: The ability to detect the interdependence of pan-european occurrences and their reflection in regional events.
