Pre-requisites: In order to attend this course it is necessary to pass the following exams: Cognitive psychology, Introduction to work psychology
Course objectives: The aim of this course is to master the psychological principles of work in modern technical systems, and to apply psychological knowledge in designing and maintaining occupational safety and well-being of an individual and organization.
Course description: Key theoretical and practical issues in understanding human factor and ergonomics; work and task design; working within modern systems with accent on ICT; function allocation in the man - machine system; communication in the man-machine system, signals coding and processing, the man-machine system efficiency; work efficacy, monotony, attention, circadian rhythm; work stress in the man-machine system; professional risk, demanding working conditions and workplace hazards; working space; job efficiency, well-being at work.
Learning Outcomes: Understanding the general principles of optimizing the fit between people and systems and creating and maintaining a psychologically healthy workplace.
