Course objectives: Understanding and critical examining of different theoretical starting points about moral development and education. Training for reviewing moral development and education of personality in social context.

Course description: Theoretical course: Moral development as a part of complete development and education of personality. Theoretical-methodological problems and approaches to research of moral development and education. Social and moral values. Problem of universality. Moral heteronomy and moral autonomy. Goals of moral education. Phases of moral education. The place and the role of educational factors (family, peer groups, school) in moral development. Contents, principles and methods of moral education. Models of moral education. Moral education in educational school work programme. The principles of moral education programme design. Practical course: Comparative analysis of theoretical starting points in research of moral development and education. Methodology of research in moral education. Analysis of instruments for research in moral development and education. Studying the school programme from the aspect of moral development and education. Production of moral education programme design.

Learning Outcomes: Student has acquired the system of theoretical knowledge in the field of moral development and education of personality, he understands the nature and factors of moral education, applies acquired knowledge and skills in solving the developmental-educational problems of adolescents.
