Pre-requisites: Passing exams from the first three years of studies of psychology.

Course objectives: Acquiring knowledge about the subject, development, goals and objectives of clinical assessment. Definitions of identity of the subject and the clinician. Becoming familiar with the reaches, limitations and challenges of applying clinical assessment in different fields and working conditions.

Course description: Theoretical instruction 1.The subject, characteristics and goals of clinical/psychological assessment 2. The clinical method and principles of clinical/psychological assessment 3. History and future of the clinical assessment 4. Role of the clinician-practitioner and assessment of the clinician 5. Objectives of clinical/psychological assessment, 6. Defining the character of psychological data, 7. The process and phases of clinical/psychological assessment, 8. Context of clinical assessment and ethical issues in assessment, 9. Clinical assessment paradigms, 10. Forms of assessment, 11. Data collection and integration, 12. Clinical judgment, 1. Communicating results of clinical assessment and writing the Psychological report, 14. Clinical/psychological assessment and treatment planning, 15. Critical evaluation Practical instruction: Practical classes Group work follows topic from the lectures and during it the applicability of the clinical method of assessment is demonstrated trough presentation of actual cases from clinical practice or through participation of practitioners. Analysis of student research, discussion about their theoretical essays on assessment.

Learning Outcomes: Distinguishing between clinical and personality assessment, at the same time questioning the existence of such a distinction. Understanding and application of different assessment paradigms, their re-examination and critical evaluation. Preparing students for Methods of clinical assessment.
