Research of Educational Practice

Pre-requisites: There are no particular requirements for attending this course.

Course objectives: Training for understanding the function and the importance of systematic monitoring and analysis of educational work process and results and development of capabilities and skills needed for implementation of methodological and methodical knowledge in practical questions solving.

Course description: Theoretical course: The function and the importance of analytical-research work in school practice. Analysis and research of school practice as a process of systematic monitoring and analysis of realization and results of educational and school work. The place and the role of “small“ research projects in school. The role of educationalists / professional associates and teachers in initiating and realization of “small“ research in school. “Small“ and “representative“ research relation. “Small“ research characteristics. Possibilities of implementation of different research techniques and instruments in school research activities. Practical course: Elaboration and realization of one “small“ research project and elaboration of conceptual plan of action directed towards altering the school practice based on the results of conducted research.

Learning Outcomes: Students should: understand the function and the importance of research projects in the practice; know how to conduct small research and design improvement actions for educational work based on the gathered data.
