Course objectives: Training to understand the interconnection of different theoretical approaches to the interpretation of the nature and the function of institutional education and methodological solutions in studying the school and the school systems.

Course description: Theoretical course: Particularities of different theoretical approaches in analysis and interpretation of the nature and the function of institutional education. Methodological solutions in studying the subject of School Education. The possibilities of implementation, advantages and disadvantages of different methodological approaches in studying the school and the school system. The importance of empirical, historical and comparative research in studying the school and the school system. The needs and the possibilities of implementing the systematic approach in studying educational phenomena and the subject of School Education. Goals and tasks, advantages and limitations of implementation the systematic school studying. The particularities of modelling in education. Contents and structure analysis of school institution as an assumption of hypothetical school model construction. Practical course: /

Learning Outcomes: Students should understand the origins and characteristics of different school theories; the advantages and limitations of different methodological approaches in studying the school and the school system; the possibilities and limitations of the use of systematic approach in studying the school.
