Pre-requisites: There are no specific prerequisites for attending. Students are required to actively attend classes, continuously study the appropriate literature and participate in discussions in class. Written term paper is optional.

Course objectives: The goal of course is that students adopt relevant knowledge about the cultures of the Old World, and through interactive discussion in class to develop the capacity for critical interpretation of the relevant issues.

Course description: The course consists of essential information regarding the cultures of the Old World, exposed to the time occurrence, importance and geographical distribution. The oldest cultural horizons in Asia, Europe and Africa are eaborated.

Learning Outcomes: It is expected that students will be able to analyze, classify and continue to improve fundamental understanding of Old World cultures
