Pre-requisites: There are no specific prerequisites for attending. Students are required to actively attend lectures, to continuously study the appropriate literature and participate in discussions.

Course objectives: The goal of course is to adopt relevant knowledge concerning the cultures of the New World, and through interactive discussion in class to develop the capacity for critical interpretation of the presented text and visual material.

Course description: The course consists of essential information regarding the cultures of the New World, exposed to the time occurrence, importance and geographical distribution. The oldest cultural horizons in North America, Mesoamerica and South America to the 16. century are eaborated.

Learning Outcomes: It is expected that as a result of this course, students will be enabled to identify, classify and critically analyze the cultural horizons of the New World.
