Course objectives: The course aims to acquaint students with previous research of the phenomenon of fashion in the national framework, as well as new theoretical approaches.

Course description: The course deals with the conquest of knowledge in the twentieth century fashion by placing emphasis on fashion productions in Serbia at all periods of its statehood and legal development. Moreover, the contents of the course involves the analysis and discussion of key issues related to fashion, such as the cycles of fashion, the relationship between power, ideology and fashion, techniques of femininity and masculinity, fashion and the exotic, fashion and anti-fashion, fashion and film, kitsch, consumption and so forth.

Learning Outcomes: The student is taught to apply interdisciplinary approaches in the exploration of fashion, which include cultural studies, anthropology, sociology, history, art and social history.
