Pre-requisites: Elementary understanding of general history and history of social thought in the 19th and first half of the 20th century.
Course objectives: To introduce ethnology and anthropology students to classic sociological foundations, to the degree in which it coincides and overlaps with those two disciplines.
Course description: Comparative perspectives in classical sociological and ethno-anthropological thought. Analyzing primary texts by classical authors in the discipline.
Learning Outcomes: The ability to navigate between parallel histories of sociological and ethno-anthropological ideas and research.
