Course objectives: Introducing the students to the origins of structuralism and the relevant theoretical and methodological issues in structural anthropology and folklore. Investigation of different narrative discourses.

Course description: Different narrative discourses (anthropological, folklorist, historical, literary, conversational) in oral and written form are subject to analysis in this course. The study of some major structural and discourse analytic methods used in anthropology

Learning Outcomes: Students become familiar with fundamental methods and learn how to apply them to selected material. Training students for a variety of narrative and discursive analysis. Training students to become autonomous structural analysts.
