Course objectives: Acquiring knowledge of Ancient Greek History from the Mycenaean to the Late-Hellenistic period.

Course description: A survey of Ancient Greek History from the Mycenaean period to 146 B.C. The focus is on the origin and development of the Greek polis, its constitutional and legal history, and the economic and cultural development of the Greek world. Other aspects that are closely followed are the crisis of the Greek polis and Roman interference in the relations between the Hellenistic kingdoms and Greek city states.

Learning Outcomes: Familiarity with Ancient Greek History from the Mycenaean to the Late-Hellenistic period.
