Pre-requisites: Finished M.A. studies in classical studies; passed exams in Vizantic philology I (graduate studies), Greek language II (graduate studies) and Neo-greek language II (graduate studies).

Course objectives: Widening the knowledge previously acquired; developing skills for independent reading and analysis of texts written in popular Greek language, which stands out from normative grammar of classical Greek.

Course description: Authors and works of popular Vizantic literature; Antic tradition; Relation towards folklore tradition of older peoples; Translating of Vizantic authors.

Learning Outcomes: Full ability for independent scientific work in the field of medieval Greek popular literature and presenting its results in form of scientific papers, monographs etc.
