Pre-requisites: Students must pass the exam in Latin language II and to translate text of approximately the same width as those given in classes.

Course objectives: Students get acquainted with the phases of the Latin language development and its varieties and get able to comprehend and translate complicated texts, paying attention to their stylistic features.

Course description: This course connects classical Latin period with older phases of Latin language and finds a place for Latin among other Indo-European languages, especially Greek.

Learning Outcomes: Fulfilling the knowledge of Latin language, of syntax and stylistics, making a difference between authors by stylistic features and literary type features.
