Pre-requisites: The attendance at lectures and in-class discussions with individual problems solving is mandatory. The course is the elective course to students of Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Belgrade and the University of Art in Belgrade.

Course objectives: The goal of the course is to acquire knowledge about the theory of museality, recognize historical information and practical proficiency in creating museum collections, as well as concerning modern purpose and interpretation of museum heritage.

Course description: 1.Introduction studies of heritage protection 1.Defining the course and main expressions(terms testimony and philosophy of protection) 2.Theory and systematization of museality (documenting, informational and communicational aspect) 3.The historical models of museality. 2.The pragmatic aspect of museality; museography: 1.Museality; museography and instrumental, functional, and presentable purpose of museality 2.Museality and forms of social coding.3.Museality – the practical segment and the administrative and technological processes: 1.Specific methods of certain museality branches 2.Selection and research experience 3.Documentation and scientific description 3.Communication and forms of verification 4.Politics of programming museums and models for governing 5.Technology of museum labor 6.Recognition and other forms of collecting 7.Protection and processing of collection funds; depots, documentation 8.Fabrication of collecting catalogues and other forms of scientific description 9.Forms of museum presentation; editions, expositions 10.Forms of public communication 11.Forms of marketing in museality.4.Realization (Individual student work) (performed in the second half of the second semester during the seminars and presented in one of the final sections): 1.Empirical research of segments of museum labor (starting with the stage of using museum funds to public collaboration) 2.Alternative practice 3.Analytical presentations of long-term and short-term museum activities.

Learning Outcomes: The course is designed to enable students to participate and contribute to the selection processes, processes of thesaurus collecting, and communication of museum principles.
