Course objectives: Psychological foundations of educational policy is a course designed to make students of psychology able to understand the complexity of the educational system, the nature of mutual influences of different elements of this system, development of educational system and processes of its change with special emphasis on psychological aspects of educational system change.

Course description: 1. Goals of education and upbringing 2. Elements of the educational system 3. Sources of data on educational system 4. International and inter-state organizations dealing with education 5. Comparative review of educational systems in Europe 6. Educational reforms in Europe 7. Psychological dimensions of changes in education 8. Final review of dimensions of quality of education.

Learning Outcomes: The course will develop the students' ability of viewing their professional role from a wider, systemic perspective.
