Course objectives: Detailed study of various topics that pertain to research of early European prehistory (depending on the interests of candidates).

Course description: The course is intended for candidates that want to broaden their general knowledge of early European prehistory. The lecture plan will cover methodological and theoretical assumptions regarding the study of Paleolithic, Mesolithic and the Neolithic, in the following areas: I-culture and social phenomena, II-economics, settlements and natural environment, III-studies of material culture, IV-art and the belief system. Considering that the topic for the essay and presentation will be chosen from different areas of the lecture plan, students will have an opportunity to analyze a specific phenomenon or problem in wider social, economic, cultural and ecological context. Specialist training for candidates can be obtained by taking corresponding elective courses.
