Pre-requisites: The student must have attended lectures on subjects Introduction into History of Art I and II, and the Art of Ancient Greece.

Course objectives: The goal is the acquirement of extensive knowledge on the subject of fundamental characteristics and trends in history of architecture starting from early Christianity to late gothic period.

Course description: The theoretical segment of the course concerns chronological presentation with reference to medieval architectural trends, while acquiring common and fundamental characteristics within the narrowed time periods, as well as focusing and emphasizing the manifestation of compatible features that had been appearing in Serbian architecture at the equivalent period of time. The practical section of the course is oriented towards the interactive work with students via sufficient visual support previously arranged with the course instructor.

Learning Outcomes: The course is designed to introduce students with trends and utilization of medieval architecture analysis, as well as with natural, materialistic, social and other different circumstances under which various architectural structures and creations have been made.
